Dog Agility is a very popular sport which requires dogs to negotiate a series of obstacles, directed only by the handlers body language and verbal cues. It’s fast, varied, and lots of fun for dogs and handlers!
Our 2-day Agility Skills Boot Camp will cover all the content of our usual 6-week Agility Skills course, introducing all the basic foundation skills required for moving on to learn equipment-based agility. This class is appropriate for dogs aged 8-10 months upwards (there is no age limit on learning agility!). Use of equipment is very minimal and involves no impact work.
Day One (18th July) will cover basic body awareness tricks and skills, impulse control and wait training, motivation and play, and teaching dogs to drive forward. Day Two (1st August) will cover target training, the basics of shadow handling, jump foundations, and collection. Both days will have a lot of practical training for you and your dog, as well as plenty of discussion time and demonstrations from our experienced agility dogs.
Handlers will have access to our Agility Skills Online Content.
To enroll, you should ensure that your dog has a basic level of obedience. If you’ve never done anything with your dog before, we recommend doing some of our Life Skills or Obedience classes first!
